Because of frontier claim jumpers and pirates, it was equipped with a smart weapons system, as well as a sophisticated mineral sensor and assay package. The Mule featured the latest version of the turn-of-the-century NASA VASIMR Electric Hydrogen Plasma engine, for constant propulsion, radiation shielding and artificial gravity.
